Character Interview from Henge by Realm Lovejoy
3:00 AM
Hey Addicts! Everyone raise their hands and wave! Hi I'm DynoMoon and I'm addicted to good Merlin/King Arthur books and TV and movies.
All together: Hi DynoMoon
Hehe, Alright down to business. I've already done one book blitz for this cool YA King Arthur re-imagined book, but it sounded so great I've got a character interview with one of it's leading ladies: Guinevere! And even better Realm Lovejoy, author of Henge has drawn a character pic to go with it! How cool is that?
Character Bio: Kindhearted Guinevere becomes the protagonist
Morgan le Fay’s best friend. Guinevere is gifted with magic that nobody else
has. She is a healer. She is selected to join Arthur’s Round, an elite group of
young magic users from which the new Maven (king’s adviser) will be chosen.
Describe yourself.
I was just your everyday girl from London until I began realizing my
healing abilities. I can heal physical wounds through touch. Camelot drafted me
and now instead of going to high school like a normal girl I am treated like an
extraterrestrial to be examined! I like to do ordinary things though, like
reading and gardening. Some people say I’m a bit of a romantic and optimist.
What’s something that you wish other people knew about
you?
That I’m always available to help and can be contacted anytime. I wish I
could be someone people can turn to when they’re having trouble.
What do you fear the most?
I fear regretting that I didn’t do enough for somebody, especially when
it’s too late to help.
What do you want more than anything?
I’d love to be an authorized healer so that I can use my ability to help
others who are suffering.
What do you dislike the most?
Cruelty.
Do you have a person you hate?
No, I don’t hate anyone.
What do you regret the most?
That I’m busy all the time because of the Round but I have no choice but
to be there. If Camelot gives me a healing license though, my work will be
worth it in the end.
What kind of person are you romantically attracted to?
Someone kind and genuine!
If you could change one thing about yourself what would
it be?
I wish I was more bold like my friend, Morgan le Fay. I love the way she
speaks her mind and is not afraid of danger. It takes me a long time to work up
my courage.
I have one last contribution coming for this book in Feb so be sure to come back then for my review of what I am hoping is the start of another great Arthurian addiction for me :D
Modern-day Camelot. Where knights no longer carry swords. Magic is dangerous. And those who seek control are not to be trusted.
Sixteen-year-old Morgan le Fay is a fire user. An ordinary girl with an extraordinary skill, she has the ability to create and command fire at will. Her dream is to become the Maven—the right hand of the future King Arthur. In the chance of a lifetime, Morgan is selected to join Arthur’s Round, an elite group of young magic users from which the new Maven will be chosen.
Along with the other fire, water, and wind users in Arthur’s Round, Morgan is rigorously trained and tested. The handsome Merlin, a brilliant water user, takes a particular interest in her. Is his friendship to be trusted, or is Merlin simply trying to win the position of Maven for himself? Among the many rivals Morgan faces is the current Maven, Mordred, who seems determined to see her fail.
But Morgan has a secret—years ago, her mother was executed for using fire magic, and Morgan’s desire for justice makes her more than ready to take on the challenge before her. Can she prevail in Camelot’s tests of survival and magic? Only time—and Morgan’s powerful fire—will tell.
